For more than a decade, a group of young fiddlers known as The Fantasy Fiddlers has delighted audiences in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and North Dakota.

The talented young musicians (some as young as nine years old) found their common bond while studying music together at Brandon University, Brandon, Manitoba. They met each week to prepare for performances and learn new music, under the direction and leadership of Brian and Dorothy Granger.  Performing almost weekly, their lively and entertaining musical performances were in high demand throughout the Midwest.

The group disbanded in 2005 when the young adults (who were almost all the same age) graduated from high school and went off to college.  Their music and memories are preserved on four recordings, available on CDs and cassettes.

A special “Thank You” goes to the parents for their support, help, encouragement, patience, and driving skills for lessons and performances of the Fantasy Fiddlers.

“Music can take us on a journey through time that no other means of communication can.  A tune can trigger a memory long forgotten and put a smile on the faces of our audiences.  We are not able to bring back the old pioneers of the “Fiddle” world, but their tunes live on through the fingers of these young fiddlers.”
